The Best Time for Mardi Himal & Annapurna Panorama Trekking, are spring and autumn seasons. A moderate adventure on the mid and towards the high ridges. Interested trekkers can enjoy the walk during winter times despite the cold weather. But most days are clear and fine with sunny days expect snow sometimes above 2,500 m high.

However, the best time is spring of March to May, when wildflowers are in seasonal bloom. Especially the rhododendrons of various species and colors, from tall trees to bushes. Springtime has longer sunny days, but can get overcast in the late afternoon sometimes. Cold morning, evening, and nighttime with chances of snowfall around above 2,500 meters high.

The next best time is autumn or fall, where most days are bright with sunshine for views and walks. Can get cloudy afternoon, with chances of snowfall sometimes around the high areas. But gets dark soon due to the autumn season, but enjoyable time on Mardi Himal treks.

Overview

Mardi Himal and Annapurna Panorama Trekking is one of the magnificent adventures around the hidden pockets of the Annapurna Himalayas.

 At one time, the Mardi Himal area was almost forgotten, where few groups of trekkers and adventurers seldom visited. But in the last few decades, Mardi Himal has gained more visitors. At present Mardi Himal is one of the best and popular Himalayan destinations around the Annapurna region. The reason, for its popularity is due to its proximity and accessibility from the main road head. As well as it is one of the most picturesque and shortest adventures of a week’s duration. 

An enjoyable and exciting country walks on the off-the-beaten tracks, away from the mainstream and villages. The adventure leads you to complete mountain wilderness amidst giant snow peaks of the Annapurna Himalayas. As you stand in front of majestic and staggering Machhapuchare Himal, the famed Fish Tail Peak. That dominates the skyline and the whole of the southern green hills of the Annapurna Himalayas. 

Mardi Himal and Annapurna Panorama Trekking begins from beautiful Pokhara city, with a short drive to the start of trekking. The walk starts with a climb to high hills amidst a lovely dense forest covered in dense rhododendrons, oaks, and pine trees. Soon, the trail diverts from the main various popular trekking routes, as the walk follows into beautiful woods. Climbing on a ridge with stunning views of the Annapurna Himalayan peaks, the walk continues leaving the forest behind. 

Then reaches the main highlight at Mardi Himal high viewpoint facing tremendous views of snow-capped peaks. The towering Machhapuchare stands in front of you with Mardi Himal, situated on the southern flanks of Fish-Tail Peak.

Enjoy the spectacular panorama of the whole Annapurna Himalayan range with Machhapuchare and Mardi Himal. After a grand vista with ever-exciting moments on the highest spot at Mardi Himal Viewpoint. Return journey a long walk downhill to the foot of the Mardi Hill to reach Siding farm village. From Siding Village, an exciting drive brings you to the beautiful city of Pokhara by the serene Phewa Lake.

Itinerary

Upon arrival at Kathmandu / Nepal international airport received by our staff and guide. Get transferred to your hotels in the heart of Kathmandu city, after checking in lovely rooms. Having time to get refreshed then join with other members for briefing, provided by our guide. The briefing includes information of the hotels, Kathmandu city tour and details on trekking. Evening a warm welcome dinner in a nice authentic Nepali Restaurants with cultural programs along with dinner.

A leisure morning having breakfast our city and cultural guide picks you for an exciting sightseeing tour. The tour of Kathmandu and Nepal’s Heritage Sites of cultural and historical interest. Rest of the afternoon free preparation for
Mardi Himal and Annapurna Panorama Trekking.

Our short and exciting adventure begins taking a morning drive to Pokhara city, located Nepal Mid-West. An interesting overland journey of six hours to reach beautiful city in Pokhara and then check into a nice hotel. Pokhara a leading tourist destination in Nepal and probably in the whole Himalayas. A city full of beauty and charms with serene lakes and close views of Annapurna Himalayan range.
(Interested people can taka scenic flight of half hour to Pokhara, at extra cost depending upon the trip package price).

Mardi Himal starts with a short drive heading west outskirt of Pokhara Valley
heading uphill to Nau Danda. Facing great vista of Annapurna Himalayas, then the
drive climbs on winding ups to reach at Kande. A small farm village, from here the
walk begins with climb through cool forest to a lovely wide field.
Where Australian Camp is situated with glorious panorama of Annapurna and
Manaslu Himalayan range. After a short rest down to the main trail with short
climb to Potana, possible stop for lunch. Facing grand view of Machhapuchare
Himal the Fish-Tail Peak, afternoon walk with slow uphill into serene forest.
Then reaching a high ridge at Deurali for overnight stop, a small settlement with
few simple good lodges. From Deurali grand views of Dhaulagiri and Annapurna snow peaks.

From Deurali our route diverts from the main trail enjoying breakfast and morning
superb views of snow-capped peaks. The trail leads through dense forest of tall
rhododendrons, pines, and oaks with occasional glimpse of snow peaks.
After a good trek of more than 5 hours, then reaching an open area where Forest
Camp is located. Check into a nice small and homely lodge with cozy rooms to
enjoy the overnight.

Morning from Forest Camp, trek begins heading for steep climb amidst lush
Green forest. As walk progresses, heading further up with grand scenery of
surrounding landscapes of rolling green hills. The walk continues reaching a
clearing with few good lunch a Low Camp for lunch stop. Afternoon a short walk
of few hours climb to Badal Danda for overnight halt. Badal Danda means a hill
full of mist and clouds, as this spot mostly covered in dense cloud and mist.
Transfer into a nice simple lodge for overnight, after a good moderate trek from
Forest Camp to Badal Danda.

A short morning walks to High Camp from Badal Danda, but the gain in altitude
makes the trek slower. Morning from the misty areas of Badal Danda after a
leisure breakfast, start the morning hike. Heading up on an exposed open ridge,
the trail leads above the dense forested area. As climb get steeper for an hour or
more to reach High Camp for lunch and overnight stop. Enjoy the comfort of a
nice simple lodge accommodation, and having lunch on the highest spot.

From High Camp towards our main highlight of the adventures to Mardi Himal
View Point. The highest point of the journey, start the morning heading up on an
open high ridge with steep climb. After a few hours of good climb reaching on top
of Mardi View Point. Stand close beneath the towering South West Face of
Machhapuchare Himal with small rocky peak Mardi Himal. Enjoy the spectacular
panorama of Annapurna series of peaks towards north. Includes gorgeous scenery
of rolling green hills below the Mardi Himal View Point. Having refreshing and
scenic moments, return walk down to High Camp, and then continue to Badal
Danda. Enjoy the last overnight around the high hills of Mardi Himal and
Machhapuchare Himal.

Today a long walk to reach Siding farm village, leaving early from Badal Danda
after a good breakfast. The walk leads back into dense forest, as the trail heads
on winding gradual path and then steep descend. Finally, the walk ends on
reaching a nice village at Siding, having short rest. Get on board on a local vehicle
for few hour drive to scenic Pokhara. The drive follows the Mardi River to reach
the main road to enter Pokhara city, and then reaching the Lakeside.
Enjoy the nice comfort of a lovely hotel room by the Phewa Lakeside, after a
tough long walk and drives.

Himalayan Snow reserves a free day in Pokhara, a perfect and beautiful place to
enjoy a leisure and relaxing day. Pokhara is famous and popular for various
adventure sports, like Paragliding, Zip-Line and Bungee Jumping.
Interest people can request for the adventure sports with Himalayan Snow to
enjoy grand thrills for an hour. Rest of the day enjoy the individual activities or
book for a tour around Pokhara’s natural wonderful sites.

Morning in Pokhara at leisure enjoy short tour around Pokhara’s natural wonders,
of waterfalls, deep caves along with views. Afternoon transfer to Pokhara airport
for short scenic flight to Kathmandu, during air enjoy grand views of Himalayan
peaks. On reaching Kathmandu airport transfer to your respective hotels, rest of
the day at leisure.

Last day in Kathmandu and in Nepal, after a great and wonderful experience on Mardi Himal & Annapurna Panorama Trekking. As time for your international flight transfer to Kathmandu and Nepal International Airport. Then bidding farewell to guide, staff and the Nepal Himalayas. As you step into airport terminal for homeward bound flight or to next port of call.

What age group can join for this trek to Mardi Himal?

All age group can join on this country walks to Mardi Himal View Point.
From families with children to elderly folks as long as one is physically fit and in good health. To cope with few hours of steep climb and downhill, as this trek is safe not much of altitude gain. 

How are the foods and lodge accommodation on Mardi Himal Trek?

The foods and accommodation en route Mardi Himal is simple with nice rooms.

Most lodge on walks to Mardi Himal from Deurali onwards offers twin sharing rooms with common bath and toilets. Extra fee is charged for using hot showers,

the food as per the menu provided in each lodge restaurants.

The food with limited options to choose, from famous and popular Nepali
Dhal Bhat. A boiled or steamed rice, served with mild seasonal vegetable curry, including Dal, a lentil soup with pickles, and hot sauce. 

The food menu from breakfast, lunch, and dinner to snack items.
Breakfast from oats porridge, including cereals to cornflakes with toast/ chapattis and pancake, with choice of egg variation. Lunch and Dinner with Nepali and Tibetan main course with a choice of soups. The most common food for snacks and main course is the Nepali Dal, Bhat with vegetables. Includes meat curry where available, mostly buffalo dry meats and fresh chicken are rare sometimes. The most available food besides Dal, Bhat is noodles, fried with vegetables or eggs or noodle soups. Tibetan Bread made from wheat, millet, or barley flour, and sometimes vegetable dumplings available, and fried or boiled potatoes.
Including pancakes or chapattis to enjoy for lunch, or breakfast. 

Are there facilities of electricity and internets, WI-FI?

Nearly all villages and lodges, en route trekking have electricity run by Hydro or Solar Powers. Trekkers can enjoy the facilities, charging electronic items, as well with Internet and Wi-Fi services. But on the trek from Deurali onwards to High Camp the internet and WI-FI, are quite slow and disturbing. Due to weather and landscape wise, other places runs well with cell phone or internets.

What can we expect on Mardi Himal Trek?

Nepal is a country of high land of mid-hill to higher mountainous landscapes and terrains. The walk leads up and downhill with few gradual path to enjoy.
On walks to Mardi Himal starts with steep ups for some hours and a short downhill. From the Deurali onwards to Badal and High Camp steep climb
for few hours. As well as with a few short and gradual paths on the winding trail to reach designated overnight stops. 

But on top of Mardi Himal Viewpoint, the highest spot to enjoy fabulous views of
the Annapurna Himalayas. The walk mostly amidst forested paths, with some stone steps near a few settlements. 

Can we extend this trek for few longer?

Yes, please inform on booking to Himalayan Snow Treks and Expeditions.
One can enjoy extending the trip to Annapurna Base Camp, Ghorepani and Poon

Hill or Khari Lake and Khopra Ridge. Can ask for more details regarding the extension of your interest and destination. We will comply to your request and 

arrange accordingly. Interested people can enjoy Jungle Safari for a few days at

Chitwan National Park also. Or a day rafting at Trisuli or on Seti Rivers. 

Is this trek difficult, and do we get high altitude sickness?

This is a moderate adventures around the Himalayas, although it leads to steep climb. But at the end all will be rewarded with spectacular views in the comfort of a nice and cozy lodges. The HAS or High Altitude Sickness is not a problem on this trek the highest is 4,500 m. At Mardi Himal Viewpoint for just an hour.
The rest of the walk is losing altitude, and following the lower mid-hill path. Taking slow with enough rest in between the walks will overcome the difficulties of climbing uphill.
